The Working
Group reviewed, discussed and revised a draft scope of services for the
creation of the Miami River Corridor Urban Infill and Redevelopment
Plan. The Urban Infill plan
will cover the entire Miami River Corridor, with increased focus on the
properties located directly on the Miami River, and the block adjacent
to it. Ten publicly noticed
hearings will provide the necessary public input for the Urban Infill
Plan. Brett Bibeau
stated the scope of services should specifically list the state’s
Urban Infill Plan requirements, and executive summary’s of the
attached dredging, stormwater and Miami River Greenway plans.
Mr. Murley stated the Urban Infill Plan should lead to a
Comprehensive Plan amendment. Mr.
Jim Rivers stated there should be three tiers of study, an inventory of
the current designated land use, an inventory of the actual land use,
and recommendations. Murley
mentioned the available old Miami News Building, Musa Isle, and the area
adjacent to the Miami Intermodal Center are possible redevelopment
sites. The draft scope of services will be revised, and discussed further at the next Urban Infill Subcommittee meeting May 17, 9 am, Miami Riverside Center, 444 SW 2nd Ave., 3rd floor conference room. |
