Jim Murley reported to the Urban Infill Subcommittee that earlier in the day the Miami River Commission heard an agenda item regarding the Urban Infill Plan.  The Miami River Commission unanimously passed the adoption of the City of Miami’s competitive procedure process in contracting professional planners, and unanimously approved the Urban infill scope of services, subject to input from the other MRC subcommittees prior to June 11, 2001, and final approval by the MRC Executive Subcommittee on June 13.  The Scope of Services needs a timeline for deliverables.

Clark Turner, City of Miami, stated City Manager Gimenez signed the Joint Planning Agreement.

The Urban Infill subcommittee discussed the first Miami River Corridor Urban Infill Plan public workshop.  The awarded Department of Community Affairs (DCA) grant requests the first workshop be held by June 14.  After the first publicly noticed workshop, the DCA will provide $25,000, the first half of the award.  The City, County and Miami River Commission agreed to review all requirements for properly publicly noticing meetings, and notice the June 13 Urban Infill workshop by June 5.
