Jim Murley,
provided the UIWG with a brief summary of a positive meeting he attended
regarding the Infill Plan on August 15, 2002, in the City Manager’s
Conference Room, with Dena Bianchino, Assistant City Manager; Javier
Fernandez and Otto Boudet, Mayor Diaz’s Office; Clark Turner and Sarah
Ingle, City Planning Department; and Brett Bibeau, MRC.
Murley stated Ms. Bianchino and Mr. Fernandez felt the majority
of the Urban Infill Plan’s recommendations (Pages 85-87) were entirely
acceptable to the City and directed the City representatives on the UIWG
at the meeting (Turner and Ingle) to provide the Working Group with
specific revisions to a few of the recommendations. The group agreed that additional economic analysis will be
conducted upon adoption of the Infill Plan, and Murley offered to assist
in securing funding for the additional analysis. The UIWG
reviewed all revisions submitted by the Infill Plan’s August 15, 2002
final revision deadline. Turner and Ingle provided the City Planning Department’s
amendments to the Plan’s recommendations.
Helen Brown, Miami-Dade County Department of Planning and Zoning,
stated the County had previously submitted all final revisions, which
already had been incorporated into the current draft.
Bibeau stated that at Mr. Murley’s request, he had contacted
every MRC Board member or Designee and submitted all final revisions to
the UIWG. Attached are all
final revisions to the Infill Plan.
The City and County UIWG Representatives unanimously approved the
MRC’s proposed final revisions, to this seventh draft of the Miami
River Corridor Urban Infill Plan. The UIWG
forwarded all final Infill Plan revisions to the Miami River
Commission’s Executive Committee’s publicly noticed meeting at 3 pm,
University of Miami, Rosenstiel School, 4600 Rickenbacker Cswy, Library
Map Room. The Miami River
Commission will consider adoption of the Miami River Corridor Urban
Infill Plan, as their Strategic Plan, pursuant to Chapter 163, at their
publicly noticed meeting, on September 9, 2002, noon, United Way, Ansin
Building, 3250 SW 3rd Ave.
The Infill Plan will then be presented to the City and County
Commission’s for adoption by ordinance, yet none of the plan’s
recommendations are unilaterally executed without further actions. The meeting adjourned. |
